The Public Utilities Department has completed a Cost of Service Study (FY2019) [658KB] which serves as a platform for determining water rate structure for the City’s users.
The study considers forecasted revenue required to fund projects such as the Shenandoah Raw Water Line and the different types of users such as residential, industrial, and rural customers (to name a few) and provides a fair and equitable rate structure based on their demand on the infrastructure. Most customers will see a gradual increase in rates over a period of time.
