The City of Harrisonburg offers several alert notification systems, Emergency Alert and the Notify Harrisonburg email alerts.

 

Emergency Alert:

The City of Harrisonburg-Rockingham County encourages all residents and businesses within the boundaries of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County to provide contact information so that you may be notified in the event of an emergency or life threatening weather event (tornado, flash flood warning, etc).

Notify Harrisonburg:

Notify Harrisonburg is an email alert system for notifications for changes to city services like trash collection, as well as updates on services, meetings, and events.

Types of Notifications:

Trash Collection: Receive email alert notifications during city holidays or inclement weather when it affects city trash collection.

Bicycle and Pedestrian: Receive agendas for future Bicycle and Pedestrian Subcommittee meetings and find out when meeting summaries are posted online, and receive information about upcoming biking and walking events sponsored by the City and its partners. Notices are sent one to two times per month.

Stormwater and Environmental Notifications: Receive notifications about volunteer opportunities (i.e. stream clean up and plantings), workshops, public meetings, and other related stormwater and environmental events sponsored by the City.  Learn more about the City's Stormwater Management Program.

Tip 411 

Tip 411 is anonymous reporting software that allows residents to submit tips and access agency alerts, social media channels, and important crime information to help make Harrisonburg a safer place. Harrisonburg PD app users will also have access to crime alerts and special information regarding incidents within the City of Harrisonburg. Receiving alerts is voluntary upon downloading the app or signing up on the Tip 411 Webpage.
