The City of Harrisonburg is partnering with Harrisonburg City Public Schools (HCPS) and the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to hold an enrollment event for the federal Affordable Connectivity Program. The program provides eligible households with up to a $30 discount off their monthly internet bill. It also provides one-time discount of up to $100 for a laptop, desktop computer, or tablet purchased through a participating provider when the eligible household contributes at least $10 but less than $50 toward the purchase.
If your household participates in any of the following programs, you automatically qualify:
- Free or reduced school lunch or breakfast (received by all Harrisonburg City Public Schools students)
- SNAP
- Medicaid
- Federal Public Housing Assistance
- Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
- WIC
- Veterans Pension or Survivor Benefits
- Lifeline
There are two ways you can enroll in this program:
- Go to www.getinternet.gov to submit an application online.
- Attend the enrollment event in Harrisonburg - Thursday, August 10, 2023, from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Skyline Middle School, 470 Linda Lane, Harrisonburg. Individuals attending the in-person event must bring documentation to confirm their identity, date of birth, and physical address. Existing internet service customers should bring their most recent bill. Interpretation will be available.
