City Benefits Study Results and Evaluation Process
The City of Harrisonburg Human Resources Department, joined by the Benefits Study Committee, conducted an organization-wide initiative in early 2024 to understand what benefits City employees would like to see enhanced or added, and what pressures they are experiencing in their lives and the lives of their families or loved ones that could be positively impacted by benefits. That process resulted in approximately 30 recommendations that now must be studied and evaluated before they can be considered for implementation.

The City of Harrisonburg offers a variety of opportunities for community members to participate in the enhancement of public spaces and programs through the gifting of public amenities, financial donations, or other gifts.

The City Clerk is responsible for attending City Council meetings, recording in the minute book of City Council, keeping a concise and accurate statement of all material proceedings had at such meetings including reference to all ordinances introduced, amounts and purpose of all appropriations, adopted bonds, and resolutions adopted by City Council.
Children's Services Act
The Children's Services Act (CSA) is a law enacted in 1993 that established a single state pool of funds to purchase services for at- risk youth and their families.
