The Harrisonburg Fire Department (HFD) is excited to announce their annual Community Fire Academy.  

The purpose of the academy is to educate participants on how the Harrisonburg Fire Department operates and serves the community. More importantly, the academy is an opportunity to foster relationships and create partnerships within our Friendly City and beyond. The academy will provide a unique and fun experience for all participants. The academy is open to Harrisonburg City residents, 18 years and older and is free of charge. If you are a resident of Rockingham County please still apply, just know that preference is given first to Harrisonburg City residents. 

Academy Start Date: Wednesday, May 7, 2025
Academy End Date: Wednesday, June 11, 2025
Classes will be held every Wednesday night from 6:00-9:00pm at Fire Station #1 (80 Maryland Avenue).
