Dual Primary, on August 4th, 2026
On Tuesday, August 4th, polls are open from 6:00am to 7:00pm.

Sample ballots will be posted sometime in June.
Curbside Voting is available at all voting precincts on Election Day and during Early Voting.
Important Dates:
The Voter Registration Deadline for the Primary: Friday, July 24th, 2026.
- At Registrar's Office - 5:00pm Check operating hours for DMV or other state designated voter registration agencies authorized to receive voter registration applications.
- By mail - Postmarked by July 24th, 2026.
- Online Registration via Virginia Department of Elections website - 11:59pm. Applications that are required to be printed and delivered to the registrar should be treated as regular mailed in applications (postmarked by July 24th, 2026).
Early Voting starts: Thursday, June 18th, 2026
Early Voting continues: June 18th – August 1st Monday through Friday 8:30am - 4:30pm (closed June 19th and July 3rd, 2026) and on Sunday, July 19th from 12pm -5pm, Saturday, July 25th from 9:00am-5:00pm, Sunday, July 26th from 12pm-5pm and Saturday, August 1st from 9:00am-5:00pm.
Early voting takes place in the Harrisonburg City Hall Atrium, 409 South Main Street.
The last day for Early Voting: Saturday, August 1st, 2026
Requested absentee ballots will be mailed by June 17th.
The last day to request a ballot by mail is Friday, July 24th, 2026, at 5:00pm.
The last day for mailed ballots to be received by mail is Friday, August 7th (if they are postmarked by August 4th, 2026) *
The last day for mailed ballots to be dropped off in person at the Voter Registrar Office is Tuesday, August 4th, 2026 **

**Ballots must be returned to the locality from which they were mailed out.
On Election Day our polling locations will post updates on turnout at 7am, 9am, 12pm 3pm, and 6pm.
