How Do I Retrieve My Property?
After your case is closed, the officer or detective handling your case must authorize the release of your property. Once this authorization is approved, you must call the evidence office at 540-437-2621 and make an appointment to pick up your belongings. If you are picking up found property, officer authorization is not necessary, but you still need to make an appointment. Anyone retrieving their property must bring a photo ID, and the evidence office is open Monday-Friday, 8:00am- 7:30pm.
