The Criminal Investigations Division is comprised of the Major Crimes Unit, RUSH Drug Task Force, CHARGE Gang Task Force, Forensic Unit, Violence Against Women Task Force and Internet Crimes Against Children. These detectives are assigned to investigate a wide range of cases, including homicide, felonious assaults, property crimes, sex crimes, crimes involving children, and computer crimes. Detectives receive specialized training to prepare them to handle these investigations. The Major Crimes unit works with many other local, state and federal resources to complete investigations in the City of Harrisonburg.
