The City of Harrisonburg provided numerous support grants in 2020 to nonprofits and businesses impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Grants were provided in the areas of: Scholarships/Fee Reductions for Child Care; Purchse of Food/Household Necessities For City Residents; Financial Assistance For City Residents; Utility Payments; Leases; Facility Modifications; Cleaning Equipment & Supplies; Technology; Salaries; and Personal Protective Equipment.

Grants went toward areas of need such as: Mental Health Support; Utility Assistance; Health Clinic Support; Legal Assistance; Food Assistance; Rent/Mortgage Relief/Arts And Culture Assistance; Homelessness; Child Care; and Nonprofit Assistance for operating and interruption of services costs.
