Wednesday before Thanksgiving
City of Harrisonburg offices will be closed for a half day on Wednesday, November 25, 2026.
The Recycling Convenience Center and Mobile Unit will be open until 12:00pm on Wednesday, November 25.
Bulk and Yard Debris collection for Wednesday, November 25 will still occur as usual.
Thanksgiving Day
City of Harrisonburg offices will be closed Thursday, November 26, 2026 in observance of Thanksgiving Day.
Refuse for Thursday, November 26 will be collected on Friday, November 27.
The Recycling Convenience Center and Mobile Unit will be closed Thursday, November 26.
There will be no leaf collection on Thursday, November 26.
There will be no bus service on Thanksgiving Day.
Friday after Thanksgiving
City offices will also be closed Friday, November 27, 2026 in observance of Thanksgiving.
The Recycling Convenience Center and Mobile Unit will be closed Friday, November 27 and Saturday, November 28.
There will be no cardboard or leaf collection on Friday, November 27.
City offices will reopen Monday, November 30, 2026 at 8:00am.
